ICIN 2009 – Call for Papers

Over the 20 years leading to ICIN 2009, this series of conferences has become uniquely established as the industry forum which addresses intelligence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT). ICIN has a track record of identifying key technology and service trends and analysing their influence on business models before they become widely recognized. ICIN conferences are renowned for their debates on the impact of emerging technology, architecture and industry trends on intelligent, software-driven services.

Currently the telecom service providers are at full speed in rolling out high capacity bit pipes including NGA (Next Generation Access) to their subscribers. Examples are High Speed ADSL, Passive Optical Networks and various kinds of wireless network technology. Over the next years these pipes will be filled with new kinds of content and services, generated by service providers, users and other application and media providers. ICIN 2009 will highlight the new opportunities that this amazing future will open up as seen from both the technical and business perspectives at one event.

The focus of ICIN 2009 is on new and emerging business models, technology and value chains based on communications networks and devices. ICIN 2009 will highlight future services, enablers and architectures that will drive the market for communications products and services in the emerging high speed IP environment.

Event Format

ICIN 2009 will include keynote presentations from industry leaders, providing insights into strategic thinking within the communications industry, as well as panel sessions providing the opportunity for interactive debate with invited experts. The conference will be preceded by a day dedicated to tutorials and workshops given by leading authorities to introduce delegates to key technical issues.

Topics of Interest

Original papers on recent advances relevant to ICIN 2009 are invited. Submissions that reflect new thinking and offer new perspectives will be favoured. Submissions should be original work that is either technical or business oriented; commercial presentations will be automatically rejected. Submissions that are regarded as recycled presentations from other events or conferences will also be rejected. Topics include but are not limited to:

Submission Instructions

Detailed submission procedures will be posted on www.icin.biz in January 2009.

Submissions must be written in English and consist of an extended abstract of between 1000 and 1500 words. Abstracts should include relevant figures and tables describing results and should indicate how the abstract will evolve into a final paper. Appropriate references to related publications and standards should be included where possible. The ICIN Technical Programme Committee reviews all abstracts for relevance, content and originality and it is important for this peer review process that abstracts are of the length requested. Authors of abstracts may be accepted either for presentation, panel sessions or for poster presentations. Authors of accepted abstracts will be requested to provide a full paper for publication in the ICIN Conference Proceedings.

All authors who plan to present an accepted paper or poster must complete their paid registration prior to the papers going to the printer. There is no refund for cancellation but substitutions may be made at any time prior to the event. Co-authors are considered as delegates from a payment registration perspective.
